Page 1 of 4 Here we make a beutifull Capellini armchair and build a whole room just to show how easy it is.
Cappellini armchair and assorting enterier
This tutorial should teach you that it is more or less easy to model pieces of modern furniture like armchair as their design is purely minimalistic like it is the case with this piece. Armchair is done according to a reference from a photograph, but its dimensions are not taken into account. Therefore we will let you decide your own proportions in this scene. First reset your 3DS Max.
Select any line, from the properties under geometry group, choose attach multiple. In the attach dialog click all and ok. All the lines will be connected into one. Now go into vertex sub object mode of line and select the top right vertex like in picture, with properties of line choose fillet. Move by around 20 units. Fillet will curve the line in that part. Do the same with top left vertex to get the look like in next picture.
Double the side of armchair on Y axis. Now you define the width of the armchair. Let it be something like length is. Or around 100 units. Now in top viewport draw two vertical lines that will connect these sides. In front viewport position them to lie directly on the horizontal armchair line. Like in this picture.
Attach all lines to one object and construction is complete. Under rendering group properties in construction turn on enable in renderand enable in viewport. For thickness put 4 and number of segments to 24. Turn on generate mapping coordinates.
